Good News!<\/strong> In my view, \u00a0the LCME made\u00a0a needed wake-up call to the University Administration that put educational maters\u00a0back on track again. In its emphasis on its commercial research agenda, UofL has allowed its educational priorities to receed.\u00a0 In that respect, although the experience was both painful and embarrassing for all of us, we are now entering\u00a0a better place. \u00a0As pointed out in yesterday’s article, the LCME will likely to have concluded that a few items still require\u00a0monitoring. \u00a0This is not a time to relax or withhold resources. \nThe University of Louisville School of Medicine has just\u00a0received\u00a0the good news for which it has worked hard\u00a0over the\u00a0past two years. \u00a0Its probationary\u00a0status is said to have\u00a0been lifted by the LCME. \u00a0The Liaison Committee for Medical Education (LCME) is a joint endeavor of the American Medical Association and the Association of American Medical Colleges\u00a0that accredits North American Medical Schools.<\/p>\n
