Photos of current construction of new Slip-Ramp Exit.

I took the following photos on July 14, 2012, the day of a Crossgate city meeting.  They show the current state of construction of the slip ramp that will permit east-bound Watterson Expressway traffic to enter Brownsboro Rd. going east.  This allows cars to avoid having to navigate the traffic and lights associated with Rt. 42 and its intersection with the Watterson and Rt 22.  I do not currently have a site plan that will show how the lanes will be set, nor where any possible new traffic lights will be located.  I am making some assumptions in the descriptions. If someone has corrections, let me know.

In this view (above) I am standing alongside the exit ramp from the eastbound Watterson to Rt. 42 watching a car exit onto Rt 42 at the light. The exposed dirt track is flanked by markers but I do not know if they represent the roadbed or right-of-way. There may yet be a fair amount of the bank yet to be removed.

As the new ramp approaches the Brownsboro Rd. extension by Goodwill Industries (above), it turns to the east to merge with Brownsboro Rd./ Rt.22 by the Dairy Queen (red roof).

For the two photos above, standing more-or-less and dodging traffic at the curve of Brownsboro Rd. towards Rt 42. at what will be the new intersection.  Back and on the right side is the approach of the new exit away from the expressway.  To the left is what I presume is the entrance to the new VA hospital site.

Above I turn 90 degrees to the right and look down the short stretch of Brownsboro to the light at Rt.42.  The Dairy Queen is unseen to the left.

Another 90 degrees to the right shows the length of Brownsboro Rd, now Rt. 22. On the right is an existing office building and past are that the entrances to Crossgate.  On the left is the Holiday Manor shopping center complex.

Another 90 degrees shows the presumed new entrance to the hospital site.
