University of Louisville Provides RFP Documents. Better slow than never!

ALL Public UofL RFP Documents Available Here

On March 20, ten days after I requested them, and with 3 days left before responses to its RFP are due, the University of Louisville provided the Schedules and Exhibits that are part of its Affiliation Agreement with University hospital and University Medical Center, Inc.  I had requested these under the Freedom of Information Laws.  The set of documents can be found on the Purchasing Department website of UofL.  For convenience, I have broken the document down into its components.

List of Schedules and Exhibits.

Schedules and Exhibits to Affiliation Agreement- All (6.5.MB).

Schedules:

Exhibits:

  • 3- Lease.
  • 4- Bylaws of UMC.
  • 4.2- Member Agreement.
  • 14- QCCT Agreement 1996.
  • 24- Guarantee.

In addition, some modifications were made with regards to Interview and Negotiation Sessions and Award of Contract. (Addendum 3)

Comment:

I have not yet read through all of this.  I have no idea yet what the documents contain, but just in the process of deconstructing the single file provided, I found how it came to be that University Hospital pays rent to the University of Louisville, and therefore one quick way that state can infuse 6 million dollars into the Hospital’s bottom line for patient care activities!

You take a look too, and tell us what you find, and how we can help University Hospital fulfill its mission to its patients.

[Addendum, Mar 31, 2012:  Following the March 23 deadline for submissions to its RFP, UofL removed the links from its Purchasing Department website.  All documents that were listed there are now available from within this posting.  Some are discussed elsewhere in this Policy Blog. As always, let me know if the links do not work properly.]
